St. Luke's Church To Hold Retreat

St. Luke's Church, corner of Fourth and Main streets, Jamestown, will offer a Celtic spirituality retreat from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 28. JaniceMarie McDonald, St. Luke's parishioner, former university professor, an exhibited artist and a published poet, will lead the retreat, which emphasizes the presence of God at the heart of all creation, including all of life's aspects. Dr. McDonald's religious training includes pre-theology studies at Wittenberg University, Education for Ministry and training in spiritual direction and Franciscan Spirituality. To register for the retreat, call the church at 483-6405 by Monday. Lunch will be provided.

Earth Day Event Set For Saturday

SILVER CREEK - The Silver Creek-Hanover Garden Club will celebrate Earth Day by presenting "Lets Get Dirty Day" at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Our Lady of Mount Carmel confirmation class, First United Church United Angels and the Key Club will work with the adults to refurbish the lawn in Silver Creek park and gazebo area. Children will rake, place soil down, plant grass seed and lay the hay down.

Earth Day Crafts Set For Thursday

SINCLAIRVILLE - Earth Day Craft, for ages 8 and up, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Sinclairville Free Library. Participants will learn how to make a sturdy tote out of recycled plastic grocery bags, "plarning" by cutting the bags, then crocheting or knitting to make the tote. A limited supply of hooks and needles will be available if needed.

World Beat Drum Circle To Meet

LILY DALE - The World Beat Drum Circle will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, in the Church of the Living Spirit, Cleveland Avenue, Lily Dale, corner of Cleveland and Library streets. George Clees will be the facilitator. All are welcome to attend, from those who have never drummed to the most experienced. Several drums will be available for use during the evening. Budget Session Set For Thursday

The Frewsburg Central School will have a Public Budget Session on Thursday in the Middle/High School Library from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The public is welcome.

Library Board To Meet Thursday

The Prendergast Library Board of Trustees will meet at 12:15 p.m. Thursday, in the Fireplace Room of the library at 509 Cherry St., Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.

Stockton Stories Continue Thursday

STOCKTON - The Mary E. Seymour Stockton Library will hold story time at 4:30 p.m. Thursdays. On Thursday, the library will celebrate Month of the Young Child with Sheriff Joseph Gerace as the guest storyteller, reading one of his favorite children books. Cookies, juice and pins will be supplied by the Chautauqua County Association for the Education of the Young Child. All children are welcome to attend. To register, call 595-3323 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 1 to 5 p.m. Friday and 4 to 8 pm. Saturday.
