Cancer Benefit Set For Sunday

A benefit for breast cancer survivor Coleen Howser Lawson will be held Sunday from 1 to 7 p.m. at The Q Sportsbar & Nightclub, 104 W. Second St., in Jamestown. The cost is $10 per person, $15 for a couple and free for children under 10. Half of the proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Food, drinks, music, door prizes and a Chinese auction will be available. Prizes will be given out for the best blue and pink outfits.

Spaghetti Dinner Set For Tuesday

Christ First United Methodist Church, corner of Buffalo Street and Lakeview Avenue, Jamestown, will hold a spaghetti dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. All proceeds from the dinner will benefit The Catholic Academy of the Holy Family. Dinner includes antipasto, lettuce salad, spaghetti and meatballs, bread, beverages and dessert. Drive-thru takeouts will be available in the driveway off Lakeview Avenue. The suggested donation is $10 for adults; $3 for children. Tickets are available at Holy Family, by calling the church office at 664-5803, or at the door.

BPU Wastewater Cleaning Lines

Jamestown Board of Public Utilities (BPU) wastewater employees are cleaning sewer lines in the village of Falconer for approximately two months beginning this month. Village residents are advised to keep toilet lids down when not in use to contain any unexpected water surges resulting from the cleaning process. The cleaning of sewer lines takes place every four to five years as part of regular maintenance to keep the wastewater system functioning properly. Buildings and homes equipped with back-flow preventers should not be affected. The process is expected to be completed by July 1.

JPS School Board To Meet

The Jamestown Board of Education will meet on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the board room at 197 Martin Road.

Boy Scout Crew To Host Sale

The Cougars, a Boy Scout Crew composed of people with developmental disabilities, will hold a rummage sale Saturday, April 28, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Resource Center, 200 Dunham Ave., Jamestown. Proceeds will benefit TRC Foundation's Mark Pacheco Working on Wonders Fund. There also will be a bake sale. Organizers are accepting gently used donations for the sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, April 27. Sherman To Hold Special Meeting

Sherman Central School will hold a special board of education meeting on Tuesday at 7:30 a.m., at the school. The regular board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in Room 118. Public is welcome.

Southwestern Board To Meet

The Southwestern Central School Board of Education will hold a special meeting Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the middle school cafeteria to conduct business.
