Surveys To Begin
The Jamestown Fire Department will begin conducting building surveys in the city Monday.
Grant Meeting Set For Monday
Mayor Sam Teresi will hold a public hearing Monday at 6:15 p.m. in the Jamestown City Council Chambers. The purpose of this public hearing is to provide citizens with the opportunity to comment on the proposed FY 2012 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Program Action Plan for the city of Jamestown and to assess prior CDBG and HOME program performance and progress.
Ripley Board To Meet Tuesday
RIPLEY - A special meeting of the Ripley Central School Board of Education will be held for the purpose of voting on the BOCES administrative budget and election of BOCES board members, on Tuesday, at 4 p.m., in the District Office of the Ripley Central School, and for the purpose of any and all items that come before the board.
Senior Report To Discuss Smoking
MAYVILLE - "Senior Report" with Reed Powers will have Iman X. Samoka as the guest on Saturday's program. The topic will be quitting smoking. The live, call-in program airs from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday. Individuals may call 753-5225 during that time with questions or comments. The program is rebroadcast each day at 2 and 8 p.m. for some communities. "Senior Report" is shown live on Saturday mornings on Time Warner Cable systems covering the following communities: Brocton, Cassadaga, Chautauqua, Fredonia, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, Stockton and Westfield on Channel 5. In Dunkirk, Forestville, Hanover, Irving and Silver Creek the program is on channel 19.
Egg Hunt Set At SUNY Fredonia
The SUNY Fredonia chapter of The Delta Chi Fraternity and university President Dennis Hefner will host the second Spring Egg Hunt for the children of the village of Fredonia on Saturday at 2 p.m. The hunt will take place at the president's residence, 194 Central Ave., Fredonia. The event will feature arts and crafts, refreshments and prizes for winners of the egg hunt. Attendees are asked to park at the Fenton Hall parking lot, adjacent to President Hefner's property.
Treasure And Trash Sale Set
The YWCA of Jamestown will hold its Trash and Treasure sale on May 19 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the YWCA Lake Lodge, 185 E. Terrace Ave., Lakewood. The YWCA is currently taking donations at its Jamestown site on the corner of Fourth and Main streets. All donations are tax deductible, but clothing will not be accepted. Panama School Board To Meet
PANAMA - The Panama Central School Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 7 a.m. Tuesday to vote on the BOCES administrative budget and the election of BOCES board members. The meeting will be held in the board room and is open to the public.
