Ladies Auxiliary To Host Dinner

The AMVETS Post 726 Ladies Auxiliary will host a chicken and biscuit dinner from 12:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the ILS Veterans Club, 364 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown. The cost is $7 for ages 10 to adult, $4 for children ages 4 through 9, with children under 4 eating free. Dessert is included. Proceeds will benefit local community and veterans' programs.

Blockville Lot Owners To Meet

ASHVILLE - The annual Blockville Cemetery lot owners meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday upstairs in the Ashville Library. Anyone interested in the care and operation of the cemetery is invited to attend.

Water Flushing Begins Monday

CHAUTAUQUA - The Chautauqua Utility District will begin flushing the water mains in Chautauqua Institution on Monday and continue through Thursday, April 19. Flushing will begin at the south end of the Institution and proceed to the north end. Water mains will be flushed between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day.

County GOP To Host Breakfast

ELLICOTT -The Chautauqua County Republican Committee is hosting a breakfast to welcome incoming U.S. Rep. Tom Reed from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Alfie's Restaurant, 386 Fairmount Ave., West Ellicott. Those interested in attending are asked to make reservations by calling Carla Westerlund at 386-2234 or Bill Tuggle at 366-8370.

Rummage And Bake Sale Set

LEON - The Leon Fireman's Auxiliary will host a rummage and bake sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Leon Fire Hall. A bag sale will begin at noon Saturday.

Poland Board To Meet Tuesday

KENNEDY - The Poland Town Board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, in the town hall, 3593 Church St., Kennedy. The public is welcome to attend.

Tea Party To Protest Monday

The Southern Tier Tea Party Patriots will hold a Tea Party Tax Day Protest at noon Monday, at the Chautauqua County Courthouse in Mayville. The public is invited to attend.

Harmony Group To Hold Dinner

BLOCKVILLE - The Harmony Historical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday for a dinner meeting. The dinner will be a tureen style dinner. Everyone is asked to bring a dish of food to share and their own table service. The speaker will be Randy Sweeney, executor director of the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation. His subject is "How to Establish an Endowment Fund." The public is welcome to attend. The society recently met for the first business meeting in 2012. The Harmony Historical Society is located on Open Meadows Road, Blockville.

County IDA To Meet Tuesday

The Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency board of directors will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, in the IDA office, 200 Harrison St., Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.
