CHERRY CREEK - Betty J. Moore, 77, died Sunday, April 8, 2012, at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa.
She was born May 18, 1934, in Gowanda, the daughter of the late Edgar R. and Myrtle (Valentine) Sheldon.
Betty was a certified executive housekeeper at Manor Oak Skilled Nursing Facility for 23 years, retiring in 1999 and worked for the board of directors of Steuben Electric. Betty was a past member of the Executive Housekeepers Association and was especially proud of being past president of NY-Penn Chapter of the International Executive Housekeeping Association. She represented the chapter at district meetings and the National Congress in Boston, Las Vegas, Reno, New Orleans and Nashville. Betty traveled to about every state in the union, loved to read and will be remembered for her many crocheted dolls and quilts.

Betty was a proud member of the Cherry Creek-Leon United Metho- dist Church, past member of the United Methodist Women and past president of the church choir.
She is survived by Dew A. O'Mahen (daughter) of Dunkirk, N.Y., Arnold D. (Tara) Moore II (son) of Sheridan, N.Y., Darryl J. (Kimberly) Moore (son) of Smyrna, Tenn., Dawn A. (Dowe) Parsons (daughter) of Unstead, Mich., Miste B. (Keith) Scazafavo (daughter) of Kingston, N.C., Joyce Sheldon (sister) of Gowanda, N.Y., 12 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and Heidi, her beloved Boston Terrier.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Moore, whom she married on May 8, 1953, and her grandson Theodore (Teddy) Moore.
Visitation will be held at Hills Funeral Chapel, 478 Balcom Corners, S. Dayton, N.Y., on Thursday April 12, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 13, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Cherry Creek - Leon United Methodist Church in Cher- ry Creek, N.Y. The Rev. Bruce Fish will be officiat- ing. Burial will be in the New Albion Cemetery.
