FORESTVILLE - Ryanne Dugan was dominant in her first start of the year as Forestville downed Panama, 5-1, in non-league softball on Thursday.
In a rematch of last season's Section 6 championship game, Dugan struck out 13 Lady Panthers without issuing a walk. She allowed just four hits in the complete game.
The Lady Hornets' offense wasted no time in giving Dugan support, pushing across three runs in the bottom of the first on RBI singles from Cherish Pope and Emily Markham.
Panama scored its only run of the game in the fourth inning when Taylor Lloyd ripped a triple and scored when the throw into third was off the mark.
Lloyd was saddled with the loss on the mound despite allowing just six hits. She struck out four and walked two.
Dugan added two hits to pace the offense while Markham collected a pair of RBIs.
