Thrift Store In Need Of Items
The Victory Tabernacle Thrift Store, 205 Cherry St., Jamestown, is in need of donations of all types, including blankets, pots and pans, and dishes. Items should be taken to the store from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Thursday; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday; or 10 a.m. 2 to p.m., Saturday. Poland Memorial Group To Meet
The Poland Memorial Day Committee will be meeting in the Kennedy Town Hall at 3593 Church St. on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The public is welcome. SBDC To Host Conference
The Small Business Development Center and The Center for Continuing Education is sponsoring a "Social Media For Your Business" conference from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at JCC's Carnahan Center. The cost is $54 a person, which includes lunch. People can learn more about networking electronically with the help of social media. FREWSBURG - The Frewsburg Central School Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 29, in the Superintendent's Office to adopt the 2012-13 school budget. The public is welcome to attend.
Beef-On-Weck Dinner Slated
DEWITTVILLE - The Dewittville-Hartfield United Methodist Church, Route 430 and Meadows Road, Dewittville, will host a beef-on-weck dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 31. The cost is a donation of $7 and includes the sandwich, potato salad, baked beans, dessert and beverage. The church also invites the public to attend an Easter Sunday service at a special time of 8:45 a.m.
Church To Perform Cantata
ELLINGTON - The Baptist Church of Ellington, Route 62, one-half mile outside the village of Ellington, will present its annual Easter cantata, ''Because He Lives,'' at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 31, featuring song and narration. An Easter dinner, with all the trimmings, follows and an Easter egg hunt for children will be held. Admission is free. The public is invited.
