SHERIDAN - Two people were injured during a two-vehicle accident in Sheridan on Wednesday.

Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies responded to an accident at 3:43 p.m. at the intersection of Center and King roads in Sheridan.

According to police, Jessica Cannon, 28, of Fredonia, was driving north on Center Road approaching the intersection with King Road.

As Cannon entered the intersection, Larry Casey, 21, of Dunkirk, was stopped at a stop sign on King Road. Casey's vehicle entered the intersection and failed to yield the right of way to Cannon. Cannon struck Casey's vehicle in the passenger back side, and Casey's vehicle proceeded across the road and into a stop sign.

Casey was transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital while a passenger in his vehicle was taken to Lake Shore Hospital.

Casey was issued a ticket for failure to yield the right of way and will be in Town of Sheridan Court at a later date.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department was assisted by New York State Police and Alstar Ambulance, as well as Forestville and Sheridan EMS.
