Joanne Nelson, executive director of the Chautauqua Blind Association, retired; Katie Smith, current executive director of the Westfield YWCA and former county Office of the Aging director; and Sue Colwell, executive director of St. Susan Center, recently selected the 56th annual Woman of the Year.
Since 1956, Jamestown Interclub Council honors a woman whose volunteer efforts exemplify the civic organizations belonging to the council. The organizations are Allen Park Women's Club, Zonta Club of Jamestown, Daughters of the American Revolution, Marvin Community House, Norden Women's Club, YWCA of Jamestown, American Association of University Women, Creche, Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, NYS Women, Inc., Women's Club of Lakewood and Chautauqua Shores Chorus.
The honoree will be revealed at the Woman of the Year banquet at 5:30 p.m. Monday, March 26, at the Marvin House.
