CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

CHAUTAUQUA - Brandon E. Newby, 24, of 5306 Morris Road, Mayville, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to maintain lane at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday. The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office received a report of a motor vehicle accident on Plank Road in Chautauqua. According to police, Newby was driving south on Plank Road and failed to negotiate a turn in the road near Lindberg Road. Newby's vehicle went off the west side of the road, rolled over and then stopped on the north side of Lindberg Road. During the course of the accident, Newby's vehicle hit several road signs. He was later treated by Mayville EMTs and taken to Westfield Memorial Hospital for treatment. Newby was cited for leaving the scene of an accident and failing to maintain his lane. He will be in Chautauqua Town Court later.

CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

SALAMANCA - Joseph J. Lippert was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest at 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Deputies were called to the valet area of the Seneca Allegany Casino, 777 Seneca Allegany Blvd., Salamanca, for an unruly patron. Deputies arrived on the scene to find Lippert arguing and swearing with security personnel. Deputies attempted to calm him down when Lippert started to swear, yell and scream. He was charged and arraigned by a Salamanca City Court judge. Lippert was taken to the Cattaraugus County Jail on $500 bail and will be in court later.
