Legion To Host St. Patrick's Day Party
LAKEWOOD - The Lakewood American Legion will host a St. Patrick's Day Party on Saturday evening. Rueben sandwiches and corned beef and cabbage will be served from 5 to 9 p.m. with the band Smokehouse playing from 8 to 11 p.m.
Thule Lodge To Meet Saturday
BEMUS POINT - The Thule Lodge, 4123 Pancake Hill Road, will hold its St. Patrick's Day meeting Saturday along with the monthly business meeting. The meeting will begin at 2 p.m. and following the business meeting, refreshments will be served. All members are urged to attend and wear green for the day. New members are welcome.
Busti Official Sets Meet-and-Greet
WEST ELLICOTT - Jesse Robbins, Busti supervisor, will host a meet-and-greet with town residents from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at a Republican party breakfast at Alfie's Restaurant, 986 Fairmount Ave.
Sportsman's Show Is Saturday, Sunday
The Little Valley Sons of the American Legion Squadron No. 531 will hold its Sportsmen's Show on Saturday and Sunday at Green Gable Village on Route 219 between Salamanca and Great Valley. More than 150 tables will be featured at the show, which will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. The event is open to the public. Admission is $5 with children under 12 admitted free. Refreshments will be available and the Cattaraugus County pistol permit clerk will be available both days.
MS Kickoff Party To Be Held Friday
The "MAGIC for MS" and MS Awareness Vendor Fair with the 2012 Walk Kick-Off Party will be held Friday at the Spire Theatre and Odyssey Hall, formerly the First Congregational Church, 317 E. Third St. Anyone attending should use the Fourth Street entrance at the rear of the building. The vendor exhibits open at 4:30 p.m. and will include information for people with multiple sclerosis, their families and caregivers, along with refreshments, giveaways, prizes, walk information and registration assistance. At 6:30 p.m., magician Phillip Pratt will perform in the Spire Theatre. Tickets can be purchased pre-sale for $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12 at the Secret Garden Flower Shop, 79 Allen St., Jamestown, or by calling Mary Gabalski at 720-1737. Prices at the door are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Both events are open to the general public.
4-H Benefit Auction Is Saturday
FREWSBURG - Greg and Bill Himes, owners and operators of Himes Auction Co., are hosting a benefit auction at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Frewsburg Fireman's grounds. Local businesses interested in helping the 4-H program can still donate items or gift certificates, which can then be auctioned. Thirty businesses have donated items for baskets which will be auctioned off during a live auction called by Himes. A 50/50 giveaway, food and drinks will also be featured during the event. Ron Hennighs will be bringing wholesale items to be auctioned off such as DWK statues, food items, lamps, knives and more. Among those who have donated are Ted's Auto Place, Salon One, Village Salon and Frewsburger Pizza. To donate items for the auction, call Greg Himes at 499-1418 or Bill Himes at 499-6077.
