The Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday for a lunch meeting. The cost is $2 per person. Jessie Robbins, town supervisor, will be the guest speaker. Evelyn Dewey, Millie Wheelock and Marie Robbins will be the committee. New members are welcome to attend.
Fifty-nine seniors met recently in the Busti Fire Hall for a chicken and biscuit dinner prepared by the ladies of Emeritus. The meeting opened with prayer, a flag salute and song. Pat Crandall, visitor and new members Ann Johnson, Peg Walters and Elaine Stroeble were welcomed. Entertainment was provided by Bob Villardo of Jamestown.
Reports by Pennie Harvey, secretary and Joanne Osman, treasurer, were accepted as read.
Celebrating birthdays were Barbra Jennings, Linda Robillard, Jenn Eddy, Robert Wiltsie, Sharon McCreary and Ann Johnson.
Richard Anderson gave an updated report on the coupons for troops.
Helen Johnson spoke on trips and stated that $82 was due by May 3 for the trip to African Lion Safari. She reminded those attending that a passport or enhanced license is required. the group will also travel to the Warther Carving Museum in Dover, Ohio with the payment of $67 due on July 5. A mystery trip is Sept. 26 and the cost is $72. A Christmas cabaret trip is Nov. 27. The cost is $70.
Peg Rawley and Elba Lawson volunteered to audit the books.
