Church To Host Midweek Service
First Presbyterian Church, 509 Prendergast Ave., Jamestown, will present the second in a series of Lenten midweek services at noon on Wednesday, followed by lunch in fellowship hall. Sue Culver, elder and A Children's Place director, will preach this week on her experience of "Faith After Fifty."
JHS Test Deposit Due By Friday
Any Jamestown High School student planning to sit for an Advanced Placement subject exam this year must submit a $13 deposit for each exam to Mrs. Ostrom in the JHS Guidance Department no later than Friday. Deposits may be paid with cash or check made out to Jamestown Public Schools. The total cost for each exam is $87 or $57 for students receiving free or reduced lunch. Parents may contact Mrs. Ostrom at 483-4358 with questions.
PVCS Changes Meeting Date
SOUTH DAYTON - The March 15 meeting of the Pine Valley Central School Board of Education has been changed to 7 p.m., March 13. Meetings are held in the Board Conference Room in the elementary school.
Outdoor Club Plans Events
The Allegheny Outdoor Club will stage a moonlight hike Thursday at Chapman State Park in Clarendon. Participants should bring a small flashlight and meet at the warming hut on Chapman Lake by the canoe put-in at 8:30 p.m. Moonrise will be at 9:30 p.m. This will be a flat hike around the lake. For more information call Pat Spicer at 814-757-8331, 9 to 11 p.m. On Sunday, the AOC will hold its Annual Winter Cookout and ski or hike at Hearts Content. Participants will meet at the Hearts Content pavilion at 1:30 p.m. for the hike. The pot-luck dinner will be at 4:30 p.m. Participants should bring a dish to pass.
