The American Red Cross of Southwestern NY will hold its annual ''Savor the Flavor - A Taste of Chautauqua County'' at the Jamestown Savings Bank Arena on Sunday, March 18, from noon to 3 p.m.
This event helps to raise the funds needed to offer the vital services of the American Red Cross right here in Chautauqua County. Whether it be a family needing food, clothing and shelter after a home fire in the middle of a night, or an emergency message that needs to be sent to a member of our Armed Forces, the Red Cross is waiting to help those in need.
''Our Savor the Flavor event is a unique opportunity for our community members to get together for a fun afternoon of tasting the best food and beverages available in Chautauqua County,'' said Kathy Burch, Chapter Operations Officer for the Southwestern NY Chapter and organizer of the event. ''We look forward to the tasty treats and good company.''
Several area restaurants, caterers, wineries, brewers and more have attended the Savor the Flavor event in the past. This year's attendees will include 3Cs Catering, B&B Catering, Cibo Jamestown, Culligan Water, Elegant Edibles, Hometown Grill, Horseshoe Inn, Jamestown Bowling Company, Jamestown Savings Bank catering staff, Johnson Estate Winery, Merritt Estate Winery, Payne Pantry, Roberto's, Ruby Tuesdays, Southern Tier Brewing Company, Taco Hut, Tim Hortons, Wegmans and Wing City Grille.
For the vendors, the event offers new opportunities to reach out to people who are in need of a special event caterer in the future and for the public to try something new.
''Savor the Flavor is a great event to bring the county together for a great cause,'' said Robert Cross of 3Cs Catering. ''From a vendor standpoint, it is a great way to reach out to new clients and visit with old friends. We have gained many new clients from our participation in this event.''
"We love to be part of the community, and this is a great way to do that,'' said Andrew Carlson of Wing City Grille.
