Church Sets Midweek Service
The First Presbyterian Church, 509 Prendergast Ave., Jamestown, continues its tradition of a midweek service at noon each Wednesday during Lent. Elder Paul Hedin will preach this Wednesday. Lunch will follow in fellowship hall. "Faith After Fifty" is the title of this year's series of sermons. All are welcome to attend.
Breakfast Set For March 3
Emmanuel Baptist Church, 53 W. 23rd St., Jamestown, will host a waffle and egg breakfast from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 3. The cost is $5 per person. Proceeds will benefit the kitchen committee fund.
Honest John's To Host Benefit
Honest John's Restaurant will host a pizza and pasta benefit dinner for the family of Quinn Ortiz, who died Feb. 8 in an accident on North Main Street. The benefit will be at Honest John's Restaurant, 1245 E. Second St., Jamestown, from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 4. A $7 donation includes pizza, pasta and beverage. All proceeds will go to the Ortiz family.
Eastern Star To Meet March 5
Mt. Sinai-Mecca Chapter No. 132 Order of the Eastern Star will meet at 7:30 p.m., Monday. March 5, at the Masonic Center, Baker Street Extension. Members are reminded that there will be a green auction following the meeting.
