Forty-six members of the Mayville Senior Citizens met in the Mayville VFW recently for their annual soup lunch. The soups were prepared by several members, as were sandwiches and desserts. Louise Richer, Bonnie Johnson and Dolly Gilbert were the kitchen committee. Chaplain Dianne Goodrich asked a blessing after President Joyce Ayres greeted the group. The members enjoyed the nice variety provided.
Ms. Goodrich read ''Alice's Cake'' and ''Memories'' and led the group in prayer.
Program Chair Bill Tornstrom introduced Pete James who discussed how much driving rules have changed over the years as well the vehicles themselves. He stated that the rule change often and it is up to drivers to keep up. He trains school bus drivers. James advised the group that changing their address on their license after moving is very important. He answered many driving questions for the audience.
Due to the lateness of the day, no business meeting was held.
Bonnie Johnson invited the group to attend the dinner on April 1 at the VFW that is being held to raise money for ''Wounded Warriors.''
The next meeting of the Mayville Seniors will be Thursday at noon in the Mayville VFW. The speaker will be Mike Peterson, PT, Cert. MDT from Westfield Hospital. He will discuss ''Dealing With Back Pain.'' All area residents are welcome to attend, and should a dish to pass and their own table service.
