Northwest Savings Bank has promoted Paul "Sam" Lindberg to senior vice president, region credit officer, for the Northwest Region and Chautauqua and Cattaraugus county markets of Northwest Savings Bank.
Lindberg will be responsible for providing independent oversight of the commercial lending activities for the 63 banking offices in Northwest Savings Bank's Northwest Region and Chautauqua and Cattaraugus county markets. He will also supervise the credit analysts and portfolio managers that have been assigned to them. He will also become a voting member of the bank's Senior Loan and Credit committees.
In 1979, Lindberg began his banking career as a management trainee for Warren National Bank/Marine Bank/PNC, where he held a number of positions including assistant branch manager, branch manager, mortgage lender, commercial lender and regional loan manager. He joined Northwest Savings Bank in 1997 as a credit officer. He was named loan review manager in May 2006 with responsibility for developing loan reviews into a key credit risk control for the bank. Lindberg worked as part of a team that created and implemented the risk rating system that the bank currently utilizes.

Lindberg graduated from Clarion University with a bachelor's degree in business administration and from the Pennsylvania Banking Association's School of Banking. Lindberg is a member of the Sheffield Cemetery Association board and a member of the Warren Corps of the Salvation Army Advisory Board. Lindberg lives in Sheffield, Pa. His parents are Paul H. Lindberg, who is a resident of the Lutheran Home in Kane, Pa., and the late Ann Y. Lindberg.
