CLARENCE - Andrew Marsh of Jamestown High School set three records in winning his two events at the Section 6 swimming championships at Clarence High School on Saturday afternoon.
Marsh took the 100-yard butterfly with a record-breaking time of 50.76 to set a school and a pool record and then he won the 100 backstroke by breaking the pool standard with a 51.93.
Marsh needs a 50.73 in the 100 butterfly to qualify for All-American status. He still holds the school 100 backstroke record with a 50.76.
Andrew Caldwell was 12th with a 1:57 in the 100 backstroke and the foursome of Marsh, Matthew Caldwell, Rishi Gupta and Allan Smith were 19th in the 200 freestyle relay with 1:37.06.
The 200 medley team of Marsh, Matthew Caldwell, Allan Smith and Gupta came in 12th place with 1:47.21.
Smith was also 23rd with a 1:11 in the 100 butterfly.
Marsh competes in the state meet set at the Flickinger Center in Buffalo on March 2-3.
