With soothing sounds, pleasing aromas and a calming interior design, people are entering a world of relaxation when they walk through the doors of a new Jamestown business.
A Kneaded Escape, located on the second floor, suite 10, of the Medical Arts Building, 500 Pine St., Jamestown, specializes in massage, facials, waxing and eyelash extensions. The business is operated by Kathi Conti, a licensed esthetician with more than eight years experience, and Melody R. Overend, a licensed massage therapist who has been specializing in custom massages since 2008.
Mrs. Conti said she wanted a career in advising people about makeup and skin and hair care because the women in her family are known to live well into their 90s.

''When I turn 90, I don't want to look like I'm 90,'' Mrs. Conti joked. ''I've been doing this for more than eight and half years and I still enjoy everything about it. I'm still excited to come to work each day.''
Ms. Overend said she has always enjoyed providing massages to people.
''I always liked giving family members massages as a kid, why not make it a career,'' she said. ''I like being able to help people heal. Being able to help nurse them back. When people get massaged regularly, seeing them back to action, back to life, is great.''
Mrs. Conti and Ms. Overend said the best part of their jobs is meeting and getting to know their clients.
''We're really invested in our clients' lives. We know their families, their children, about their jobs, about their vacations,'' Mrs. Conti said. ''We feel like their our friends. We both feel really blessed.''
Both enjoy their office location in the Medical Arts Building and feel they have been welcomed by all the tenets in the building.
''You feel good from the minute you step in the door. From the music to the smells, it is a break from the world,'' Mrs. Conti said.
''You're at peace in here,'' Ms. Overend added.
All massages are customized, which includes Swedish, therapeutic, deep tissue, sports and maternity. Facial services include custom, flaxx-c anti-aging, pumice peel manual microdermabrasion treatment, oxygenating and acne clearing treatment. A Kneaded Escape also provides waxing and eyelash extension services, as well.
