According to the Jamestown Police Department, the bus was driving on Newland Avenue when a 2002 Chrysler Sebring, being operated by Walters, allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign. The Sebring struck the school bus and Walters allegedly fled the scene on foot.

During the investigation, officers were able to locate Walters at his residence a few blocks away. Walters was charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, failure to reduce speed under special hazards, failure to stop at a stop sign and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. He will appear in City Court at a later date.
