The Jamestown Community College men's and women's basketball teams will be playing at home today against Monroe CC.
At 5:30 p.m., the JCC women, who are 12-5 and listed under honorable mention in NJCAA Division II, will take on the Monroe Lady Tribunes, who are 13-3 and are a Division I team.
It will be the Jayhawks' fourth straight game against a Division I opponent.
JCC, which leads the Region 3 Division II coaches poll, is third in the region in scoring (61.4) and second in defense (51.8).
Alicia Stebbins leads Region 3 Division II in field goal percentage (52.6) and Nikole Lindquist leads in 3-point field goal percentage (32.4). Alicia Mikowicz is fifth in assists (2.9) and Madeline Apperson is fifth in free throw percentage (71.9).
At 7:30 p.m., the JCC men open Region 3 Division II play with a game against Monroe. The Jayhawks are 8-8 and Monroe is 9-7.
Monroe is listed second in the Region 3 Division II poll and is fifth in scoring with 76.2 points per game. JCC leads Region 3 Division in defense by allowing 66.7 points per game.
Xavier Kennedy of the Jayhawks is second in the region in scoring (20.6) and second in 3-point field goal percentage (44.6). Andrew Joseph is first in assists (9.3) and second in rebounding (9.7).
