There is good news for customers of American Homecare Supply who live in Jamestown.
The company, which is based in West Seneca and also has a spot in Rochester, now has a new location in the Westgate Plaza, 560 W. Third St., Jamestown. American Homecare Supply provides home medical equipment and services.
The business provides routine and high-tech respiratory equipment, supplies and support surfaces that provide pressure reducing treatment and disposable supplies. The company employees about 70 medical professionals to service the needs of its patients. American Homecare Supply provides education and training by licensed respiratory care practitioners, care planing tailored to patients' individual needs, continuing education and clinical experience in both adult and pediatric populations.

Durable medical equipment and supplies provided by American Homecare Supply includes restroom equipment like grab bars and safety rails, blood pressure monitors, canes, crutches, hospital beds, walkers and wheelchairs.
Michael Brown, American Homecare Supply sales director, said the business moved into its new Jamestown location Oct. 1. He said the new location will make it easier for people in the area to attain medical equipment and services.
''I live here in Jamestown, so, I saw the need for this type of business here. Jamestown needed this type of service,'' he said. ''It made logistical sense. We service a lot of people from here. It is great having physicians so close. I'm glad we're in the heart of the city, close to WCA Hospital.''
Brown said the services and products American Homecare Supply offers is to help senior citizens to be on their own longer.
''People want to be home. They want to stay at home,'' he said. ''We prolong life outside of a facility.''
Brown said the business gets referenced to their customers through medical professionals and hospitals. Brown said American Homecare Supply is Joint Commission accredited. The Joint Commission evaluates and accredits nearly 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. An independent, not-for-profit organization, the Joint Commission is the nation's standards-setting and accrediting body in health care.
''We're excited to help people (and) to care for the local population,'' Brown said.
American Homecare Supply was created in 1988, then known as Mercy Medical Equipment. In 1999, American Homecare Supply purchased Mercy Medical Equipment and changed its name. In 2002, Air Products Healthcare purchased the company in 2009 they were acquired by Landauer Metropolitan.
