Gerald ''Jerry'' Clark, formerly of Mayville, celebrated his 85th birthday Oct. 24. Gerald was born in Stedman in 1926 and attended Chautauqua Central School. He has been married to Doris Card Clark for 62 years. They have 3 children: Philip, of Washington, Mass.; Marlene, of Holiday, Fla.; and Virginia, of Chandler, Ariz. They also have five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Gerald and Doris reside in Holiday, Fla., where they have lived for 38 years, and where he celebrated his birthday with family and friends. He is continually committed to working with fellow veterans and ensuring their benefits are maintained. Gerald is an American Legislative National Legion Council member and travels to Washington, D.C., annually to meet with congressmen. He is an Army World War II veteran and has been a member and held positions in the American Legion and VFW for many years.
