Jamestown Public Schools Unveils Updated Website

September 4, 2011
The Post-Journal

Jamestown Public Schools' website, www.jamestownpublicschools.org, has had a recent "facelift!" The freshly refurbished website has been planned and developed with parents', students' and community members' needs and priorities in mind. Prompt, user-friendly access to relevant, up-to-date information was a primary consideration during the website remodeling process. There will be a steady supply of current, interlacing photos of students and staff, and the potential to view videos in the near future.

Deke Kathman, Jamestown Public Schools superintendent, said, "We are proud to unveil our updated district website to the public. Whether you are a parent, student, community member, visitor or District employee, it is our hope that you will find our new website easy to navigate and that you are quickly able to find the information you are looking for. You can expect lots of pictures, timely announcements and articles spotlighting day-to-day classroom and extracurricular activities, as well as a section dedicated to celebrating Traditions of Excellence throughout the district. We have not changed our website address; we have simply refreshed the look and reorganized the site to make it easier for the public to find and use information."

Mr. Kathman added, ''2011-12 budget cuts have halted the practice of printing and mailing JPS News, the district's locally distributed newsletter, so the recent updates are not only timely, but essential, as the district strives to inform, educate and communicate in a more efficient, and global manner.''
