Summer Recreation Donates To Kennedy Library

August 23, 2011
By Rose Mary Carver (editorial@post-journal.com) , The Post-Journal

As part of the Town of Poland Summer Recreation Program, participants collected returnable bottles and cans for the "Don't Trash It" program. Leader Ann Bloomquist took them in to the bottle redemption store on Everett St in Falconer, at the old Agway building.

A check was presented to Kennedy Free Library Assistant Librarian Leslie LaBarte for $155.80 during a program at the Paul B. D. Temple School. Presenting the check was Andrew Chaffin, who brought in the most returnable containers for the cause. Since the recreation program uses the library a lot, Ms. Bloomquist felt this would be an easy way for the children to give back to the community.

Anyone wishing to support the library can take their returnables to the center, and tell them they want the money to go to the Kennedy Free Library.
