Kathleen Margaret Hite and Nicholas Michael Sard exchanged wedding vows on May 29, 2011, at the Hall of Philosophy in Chautauqua Institution, Chautauqua, N.Y. Barbara Brown performed the ceremony. Music was provided by Christopher Sclafani, acoustic guitarist, and Kurt Wissing, vocalist. The bride was escorted by her father. Readings were by Jessica Stewart and Ashley Sandberg.
The bride is the daughter of Ronald and Margaret Hite of Lakewood, N.Y. Her husband is the son of Michael and Dawn Sard of Panama, N.Y.
Laura Scheid, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Burgeson, sister of the bride, Rachel Steffen, and Amanda Sard and Jennifer Sard, sisters of the groom. Bridal attendant was Kristopher Hite, brother of the bride. Flower girls were Caroline Scheid and Emily Scheid, nieces of the bride, and Evelyn Montagna, cousin of the groom.

Best man was Kurt Wissing. Groomsmen were Sean Ebert, Darren Saulsgiver, Carl Linamen and AJ Gugino. Ring bearers were Charles and Matthew Hite, nephews of the bride. Junior ring bearer was Oliver Burgeson, nephew of the bride.
The bride wore a floor-length gown of ivory silk taffeta.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of Panama Central School, earned a Bachelor of Science in 2009 and her Masters of Teaching in 2010 from the State University at Fredonia. Her husband is a 2005 graduate of Panama Central School, earned a Bachelor of Science in 2009 and his Masters of Science in biology in 2011 from the State University at Fredonia, and is pursuing his Ph.D. in fisheries genetics at Oregon State University.
They honeymooned in Islamorada, Fla.
They are living in Toledo, Ore.
