ASHVILLE - The annual Ashville Day event will take place Saturday throughout the village of Ashville with a day full of events ending at 10 p.m. with fireworks over the LLAMA Club in Ashville.
The annual Ashville Day parade will begin at 10 a.m., with lineup starting at 8:45 a.m. at Wroda's Auction House. A mini float contest and judging will be part of the parade with contestants decorating a lawn tractor or ATV in the theme of American Heroes.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., anyone interested can have their Chautauqua County Bicentennial Passport stamped in the Ashville Commons. At 11 a.m., the Goose Creek duck races will begin, followed by the annual lawn more race in Ashville Commons at noon. Dodge ball will take place at 2 p.m. in the commons.
In addition, a flea market will take place in Ashville Commons throughout the day. The Ashville United Methodist Church will begin its chicken barbecue at 11 a.m. while ribs will be available at the LLAMA club from 1 to 5 p.m.
