HANOVER - Mikol V. Rockwood, 21, of North Main Street, Angola, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt at 6:35 p.m. Friday after allegedly sending several text messages to a Silver Creek resident who has an active order of protection against Rockwood. Rockwood will be in Hanover Town Court later.
SHERIDAN - Frank D. George, 43, of Cattaraugus was charged with driving while intoxicated, having a blood-alcohol content more than .08 percent and a traffic lane violation at 1:30 a.m. Saturday on Route 20 in Sheridan. According to a police report, George was pulled over for a lane violation and then charged with DWI. He will be in Sheridan Town Court later.
Michael O. Maletto, 56, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree criminal contempt at 5:26 p.m. Saturday after a domestic incident at 644 E. Sixth St., Jamestown. According to a police report, officers say Maletto was seen outside the home with a woman. Maletto had an active arrest warrant from Jamestown City Court and was taken into custody. During their investigation, officers also discovered the woman had a valid order of protection against Maletto through Jamestown City Court. He was taken to the Jamestown City Jail awaiting arraignment.
CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF'S
LITTLE VALLEY - Three area residents were charged with third-degree burglary on Thursday after allegedly cutting electric lines at Donver's Lumber Yard in Great Valley. Jason Dille, 36, of Great Valley, Richard Farnham Jr., 31, of Killbuck and Douglas Reed, 27, of Great Valley were charged after deputies saw Dille's vehicle at the lumber yard. Several hundred pounds of cut copper was found at the scene and at a Great Valley residence. The three men were arraigned in Salamanca City Court. Dille and Farnham were taken to the Cattaraugus County Jail on $1,000 bail while Reed was taken to the Cattaraugus County Jail on $10,000 bail. The investigation is continuing.
Daniel S. Smrek, 45, of 240 Broad St., was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation at 7:23 p.m. Thursday after he was pulled over on Wildwood Avenue, Salamanca. He was also cited for failure to yield the right of way while making a left turn, avoiding a traffic control or intersection, failure to keep right, improper right turn and refusal to take a breath test. He will be in court later.
Matthew J. Kuhaneck, 24, of Salamanca was charged with second-degree harassment and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation at 9:29 a.m. Saturday after an incident in Salamanca. He will be in court later.
Anni Copeland, 40, of 355 Rochester St., Salamanca, was arrested on a bench warrant at 9:30 a.m. Friday for second-degree harassment. She will be in Salamanca City Court later.
Catherine I. Pike, 73, of 374 Washington St., Salamanca, was arrested on a bench warrant at 8:30 p.m. Friday on a charge of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. She will be in court later.
Gary R. Hilton, 59, of Hillview Manor, 28 Chestnut St., Apt. 226, Salamanca, was arrested on a bench warrant at 9:30 p.m. Friday on a charge of second-degree harassment. He will be in court later.
