Shelby and Ida Olvey celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 22, 2011, at the Carlisle Community Center, Carlisle, Ind. The celebration was hosted by their children, Jonathan Olvey of Cass, Ind., Martin Olvey of Vincennes, Ind., Laura Nelson of Celoron, N.Y., and Aaron Olvey of Sheridan, Ind. They also have five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Olvey and the former Ida Burch were married Jan. 25, 1961, in the Stringtown Nazarene Parsonage of Stringtown, Ind. The Rev. James W. Ford performed the ceremony.
