City Woman Pleads Guilty To Leaving Scene Of Fatal Accident

December 22, 2010
By Andrew Carr

COLDSPRING - A Jamestown resident has pleaded guilty in Cattaraugus County Court to leaving the scene of a fatal accident that occurred in July.

Christina H. Head, 20, of Jamestown, currently incarcerated in the Chautauqua County Jail on an unrelated charge, waived prosecution by indictment and entered the guilty plea to one count of felony leaving the scene of a fatal accident without reporting.

According to Lori Pettit Rieman, Cattaraugus County district attorney, a vehicle driven by Ms. Head was involved in a one-vehicle accident on July 4 on West Perimeter Road in Coldspring. A passenger in the vehicle died from his injuries while another passenger was injured.

Ms. Head will be sentenced on March 28.

According to Rieman, the likely term she will be sentenced to will be two to six years in a state prison.

"The judge said he wouldn't go over 2 to 6 years," she said. "So it could be anywhere from probation to 2 to 6 years, but I think its more likely that there will be some prison time."
