KENNEDY - A driver was taken to WCA Hospital with what appeared to be serious injuries after a head-on collision on Route 394 on Tuesday evening.
At about 6 p.m., Kennedy Fire Department crews responded to a call of an accident on Route 394 at the Interstate 86 overpass. They were joined there by Falconer Fire Department responders and New York state troopers and discovered a two-car crash that left both vehicles resting on the side of the road with severe damage.
A Chevrolet Cavalier traveling west between Kennedy and Falconer collided with a GMC Savana cargo van traveling east, with both vehicles coming to rest off the westbound lane of the road.

The Jaws of Life were required to extract the driver of the Cavalier from his vehicle, according to an emergency responder on the scene.
Both drivers were taken to WCA Hospital - one by Falconer ambulance crews and one by Kennedy ambulance crews - with the Cavalier driver's injuries appearing to be serious, according to personnel on the scene. The driver of the van was alert and walking around the scene, personnel said.
