MAYVILLE - CARTS Public Transportation System has changed its routes in a continuing effort to improve the efficiency of its system and provide necessary services to its customers. The following service changes went into effect on Oct. 18:
This route will depart from the Mayville County Office Building to Dunkirk one hour earlier. Following are the new departure times affected by the change:
Mayville County Offices - 12:10 p.m.
Westfield Elm Street Parking Lot - 12:25
Brocton Country Fair - 12:45
Portland Post Office- On request
Fredonia Water St. Parking Lot - On request
Arrive Dunkirk City Hall - 1:10 p.m.
ROUTE 12, ROUTE 19
AND ROUTE 29
Route 12 will depart from Jamestown at its present time of 3:30 p.m. but will no longer extend service to Dunkirk. This run will provide service to Cassadaga-area destinations, and then return to Jamestown.
Route 29 will take Route 12 passengers on to Dunkirk at this time through a transfer in Cassadaga. Advance scheduling is required for this destination.
Route 19 will provide service from Jamestown to Dunkirk departing Jamestown at 4:30 p.m.
Following are the schedules for Route 12 and Route 19:
Route 12 - Jamestown junction, 3:30 p.m.; Stockton blinker light, on request; four corners of Cassadaga, on request; arrive in Jamestown, 4:30 p.m.
Route 19 - Jamestown junction, 4:30 p.m.; Cassadaga four corners, 4:50 p.m.; arrive at Dunkirk City Hall at 5:15 p.m., Dunkirk City Hall, 5:20 p.m., arrive in Jamestown at 6 p.m.
"The changes the CARTS staff are putting in place will further eliminate route duplication and serves as another example of our continual efforts to streamline and refine the critical services we provide to the citizens of Chautauqua County," said County Executive Greg Edwards.
