FINDLEY LAKE -Peek'n Peak Resort and Spa will be the center of fall festivities this year. The Peak will host its 23rd annual Fall Festival this weekend and Oct. 16 and 17. The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Peek'n Peak has been hosting the event for more than 20 years with activities for all ages.
This year's festivities include a craft show with more than 90 vendors, lift rides among the turning leaves, a farmers' market featuring locally grown products, horse drawn rides and a variety of other activities. Kids are welcome to join in on the fun with crafts, bounce houses, activities and entertainment with magician Bruce Kikola, juggler Bob Nickerson, the Cap'n Kids Pirate Show and additional entertainment.
This Sunday, the 13th annual Turning Leaves Classic Car Cruise-in will ride in to the Peak. There is a $5 donation to park, a 50/50 drawing and door prizes with proceeds benefiting Shriner's Hospital in Erie, Pa. The cruise-in is sponsored by the Southern Tier Classic Chevy Club.
As a kick-off to the winter season, Peek'n Peak will once again hold the Fall Fest Rail Jam on Saturday, Oct. 9 and Sunday Oct. 17 from noon to 3 p.m. Also continuing this year is the snow sports equipment sale & swap in the Learning Center adjacent to the Main Ski Lodge. Proceeds from the swap benefit the Peek'n Peak Junior Race team.
Additionally, Peek'n Peak will host the annual Beer and Wine Festival on Saturday, Oct. 23. The festival will take place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will feature products from several different microbreweries, as well as local and regional wineries. This year's breweries and wineries scheduled to attend include Great Lakes Brewing Co., Lavery Brewing Co., Southern Tier Brewing Co., Flying Bison Brewing Co., Merritt Estate Winery, Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards, Sparkling Ponds and several others.
The event is scheduled to take place amid the fall foliage in an outdoor, heated tent across from Pizzaiolo's Italian Eatery and next to the miniature golf course. Live entertainment will be provided by the local band, The Acoustic Gypsies. Tickets are $25 pre-sale and $30 day of the event. This includes a tasting glass and 25 sampling tickets.
