Merit Recognition

Youngsville High School Senior Patrick Hoover was recently named a Commended Student in the 2011 National Merit Scholarship Program. More than 1.5 million students took the 2009 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test last October and entered the National Merit Program. The National Merit Scholarship Corporation conducts the nationwide competition for recognition and awards. To qualify as a commended student, Hoover placed among the top 5 percent of the students who took the test.
