BUSTI - The American Sprint Car Series Patriot Sprints will make their final appearance this year at Stateline and unlike last weekend the weatherman is promising nothing but sunshine for the Budweiser and Arthur R Gren-sponsored event.

The sprint group's June appearance ended with Bubba Broderick from Brookfield, Conn., in victory lane. Broderick took advantage of early leader Scott Bonnell's mechanical problems and then mastered lap traffic, winning his second ASCS feature of the season and the third of his career.

Broderick is fourth in the ASCS Patriot points. Bryan Howland of Auburn is the ASCS point leader followed by Salamanca's Tim Zimbardi and Tim Kelly from Rock Springs.

All of the other divisions will also be racing with the Super Late Models leading the lineup. Chris Hackett of Corry, Pa., is the Super Late leader. Hackett is followed in the standings by Wattsburg's Scott Johnson, Bear Lake's Scott Gurdak, Corry's Doug Eck and Lakewood's John Volpe.

Gurdak is third in the Super Late points and first in the E-Mod standings. Gurdak has finished in the top 10 in 12 of the 14 events this season and has nine top-five finishes and a feature win. Busti's Greg Johnson is second, 229 points behind Gurdak.

There have been just four different winners in the Super Sportsman division and, of the four, Joe Buccola Jr., of Falconer has three wins and leads the point race.

Bear Lake's Brandon Groters is running away with the Spectator points race. Groters has nine feature wins and a 321-point advantage over Brocton's Mike Moon.

Jimmy Diabo of Gerry is still the Super Challenger leader.

Gates open today at 5:30 p.m., with racing starting at 7 p.m.
