JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
Richard C. Alicea Sr., 50, of Olean was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, fifth-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and driving while ability impaired by drugs with children in the vehicle, in accordance with Leandra's Law. Police reported that around 8 p.m. Sunday, Alicea was pulled over on North Main Street near the intersection with Fluvanna Avenue to check the well being of a 10- and 14-year-old inside the 2000 Mercury Cougar. Police were called when someone allegedly saw the youths in the car and Alicea smoking marijuana behind the wheel. He allegedly failed a series of field sobriety tests and was taken to the city jail and held awaiting arraignment in Jamestown City Court. He was arraigned and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail where he was held awaiting a bail recommendation from the district attorney's office. He is scheduled to return to court on Friday for a preliminary hearing.
A 16-year-old male was charged with second-degree menacing on Sunday after police were called to a domestic dispute on the 100 block of East Sixth Street around 11:30 p.m. The youth was allegedly threatening family members with a knife and upon the officers' arrival, he was taken into custody. He was taken to the city jail and held awaiting arraignment.
Chance S. Renner, 20, of Jamestown was taken to WCA Hospital for treatment of minor injuries after a one-car accident on Allen Street Saturday morning. Police said that Renner was driving a 2003 Chevy around 11:05 a.m. when he drove over the curb and sheered off a BPU utility police as he was attempting to light a cigarette. He was treated for minor injuries and no charges were filed.
Rosemarie A. Robbins, 43, of Jamestown was charged with driving while intoxicated on Sunday after police investigated a reported suspicious situation around the intersection of Allen and Tiffany streets around 2:33 a.m. Police said her blue Plymouth Neon was pulled over at the corner of Scioto and Wescott streets and Robbins was allegedly found to be intoxicated. She was taken into custody and held awaiting arraignment.
Michael D. Lane, 24, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree menacing and cited for second-degree harassment on Sunday after a domestic dispute on the 100 block of Fulton Street. A woman reported that Lane menaced her and hit her in the head with a blunt object. He was found a short distance from the home and taken to the city jail. He was arraigned Monday morning and remanded to the county jail where he was held in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 property bond. He is scheduled to return to court on Oct. 12 for a domestic violence calendar call.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
SINCLAIRVILLE- Charles Shelton, 25, of Sinclairville was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment on Aug. 13, following a domestic dispute at a Route 60 home. Deputies reported that 6:30 p.m., Shelton was allegedly in an argument with a female. He allegedly grabbed, pushed and shoved her into a wall and toward a glass door. He also allegedly destroyed her cell phone to prevent her from calling for help. He was taken into custody and held awaiting arraignment in Gerry Town Court.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
BUSTI - Zachary D. Card, 18, of Busti was charged with DWI and cited for speeding after a traffic stop on Forest Avenue Extension. Police reported that card was seen speeding around 2:47 a.m. and he was pulled over. An investigation allegedly revealed he was intoxicated. He was taken into custody, processed and released with an appearance ticket returnable in Busti Town Court later.
ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT
FALCONER - Jennifer M. Langworthy, 19, of Falconer was charged with criminal mischief, harassment and trespassing on Monday, following domestic dispute at a Falconer home. She was processed and released with an appearance ticket returnable in Ellicott Town Court later.
WEST ELLICOTT - Dustin M. Wybiral, 19, of Russell, Pa., was charged with petit larceny and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on Aug. 12, after he allegedly stole prescription medication from a West Ellicott home. He was given an appearance ticket and will be in Ellicott Town Court later.
CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
SALAMANCA - Brandi C. Bartlow, 23, of Olean was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property on Sunday following an investigation into a vehicle theft that happened on Feb. 26. Deputies allege that Bartlow took a vehicle which she didn't own. On Sunday, she was taken into custody by Salamanca police and then turned over to deputies. She was arraigned in Cold Spring Town Court and sent to the Cattaraugus County Jail where she was held in lieu of $200 bail.
SALAMANCA POLICE DEPARTMENT
SALAMANCA - Vincent A. Jones, 44, of Salamanca was charged with third-degree attempted assault on Sunday after he allegedly tried to strangle a female during a domestic dispute around 7:38 p.m. He will appear in Salamanca City Court later.
Anthony F. McLean, 53, of Salamanca was taken into custody on a warrant charging him with second-degree harassment, fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree criminal contempt on Aug. 11 following an incident the previous evening. He was processed, arraigned and released to return to court later.
Lenny S. Kettle, 34, of Salamanca was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and failure to obey a traffic control device on Sunday following a traffic stop around 9:21 p.m. He was processed and released on $250 bail.
Maissie A. Vance, 33, of Bradford, Pa., was charged with aggravated DWI, failure to signal a turn and failure to keep right on Monday, following a traffic stop on Salamanca. Police said she was seen crossing the solid-double line in the center and further investigation revealed she was intoxicated. Police said her blood-alcohol concentration was .21 percent and she was taken into custody. She posted $300 bail and will appear in court on Wednesday.
DUNKIRK POLICE DEPARTMENT
Merritt Wolcott, 19, of Route 5, Dunkirk was charged with three counts of criminal possession of stolen property, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and criminal trespassing on Saturday, after a foot pursuit in Dunkirk. According to Dunkirk police, while responding to several vandalism reports between Saturday night and Sunday morning, officers were informed that a person of interest was in an upstairs apartment in the city. Officers checked into the tip and upon arrival, Wolcott allegedly broke through the ceiling of the downstairs apartment, fell and ran out of the back door. Officers pursued Wolcott up South Zebra Street and into another house where Wolcott managed to escape, continuing onto Lakefront Boulevard where he ran inside an unlocked back door of a house. Fredonia police and Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies assisted with the chase and officers eventually captured Wolcott in the basement of the home. He was charged and taken into custody. Police said additional arrests in connection with the vandalism reports are likely.

SHERIDAN - Paul I. Tafel, 26, of Irving was charged with DWI on Aug. 13, following a traffic stop on Route 5 in Sheridan around 1 a.m. He was processed and released with an appearance ticket.
ELLICOTT A 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy were charged with petit larceny on Aug. 9, following an investigation into bicycles which were stolen from an Ellicott home. The 14-year-old was additionally charged with trespassing and they will both appear in court later.
HANOVER - Wyatt W. Schoenle, 37, of Versailles, N.Y. was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon with the intent to use it and unlawful possession of marijuana on Aug. 14, following an incident on Iola Drive in Hanover. He was released with an appearance ticket and will be in court later.
DAYTON - David A. Weaver, 42, of Cherry Creek was charged with third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child on Saturday following a domestic dispute reported around 6:45 p.m. He was processed and released with an appearance ticket.
RANDOLPH - Bryan D. Knapp, 33, of Falconer was charged with third-degree menacing on Sunday following a domestic dispute in Randolph reported around 11:22 p.m. He was taken into custody and held awaiting arraignment.
CATTARAUGUS INDIAN RESERVATION - David A. Brill, 30, of Dunkirk was charged with petit larceny on Sunday following an incident reported on Aug. 9 at an Eagle Street residence. He was given an appearance ticket and will be in court later.
PENNSYLVANIA LAW ENFORCEMENT
CONEWANGO - Conewango township police reported that Ricardo Gray and Rebecca Gray of Warren were charged with retail theft on Friday after they were allegedly seen at 4:39 p.m.taking five books and a candy bar at Wal-Mart. Loss prevention personnel reportedly detained them and they were charged by police upon arrival.
CONEWANGO - Conewango township police reported that at 2 a.m. on Friday, Chad Dowell and a female were involved in a domestic dispute when he allegedly threatened and physically assaulted the woman. Dowel was taken into custody and was charged with domestic violence and simple assault.
