Letters To The Editor

NAACP Should Join Up With TEA Party

POSTED: July 28, 2010

To the Readers' Forum:

The NAACP voted to condemn the TEA Party as a "threat to democracy" for "explicit racist behavior."

"Racist behavior?" Has the NAACP forgotten the scurrilous words spat by Minister King Samir Shabazz of the New Black Panthers?: "You want freedom? You're gonna have to kill some crackers! You're gonna have to kill some of their babies!"

"Threat to democracy?" Has the NAACP forgotten that Mr. Shabazz - the "cracker" murderer wannabe - is the very same Shabazz, along with fellow disrupter Jerry Jackson, who wore paramilitary uniforms, carried nightsticks, and blocked doorways to polling stations 2009 in Philadelphia? Voter intimidation, wouldn't you say? Now, wouldn't that be considered a threat to democracy? It is in my book.

And how about this for "threat to democracy"? Eric Holder, President Obama's attorney general, refused to prosecute Shabazz and Jackson. Isn't Holder the person charged with preserving and enforcing U.S. law? Even some members of the Department of Justice are outraged at Holder's behavior in refusing to enforce the Voting Rights Act.

Adam Breitbart offered $100,000 to anyone with evidence on tape of racist remarks made by TEA Party members to black congressmen during the health care debate in Washington, D.C. Those who were present that day say it never happened. Has anyone stepped forward with evidence to claim the $100,000? Nary one!

TEA Party "racist"? TEA Party a "threat to democracy"? Get real! Every time we hold a TEA Party, our beliefs are stated upfront: The TEA Party opposes bloated government, runaway spending, and government power grabs. The TEA Party is freedom-loving, color-blind, and centered on ideas, concepts, and principles grounded in the Constitution and Declaration of Independence. That means smaller government, lesser taxes, lower spending, balanced budgets, and decreased regulations.

NAACP, all of these issues would benefit members of your organization as well. Why not join in working with the TEA Party?

A brochure stating our philosophy is available by e-mailing billmardlc@stny.rr.com. Join us at a meeting and meet your fellow citizens who also are concerned about the desecration of our Constitution and government run amuck.

Deann Nelson

Chad, have you seen the expense that the number of legislators take up compared to the expense federally and state mandated Medicaid consumes?

If I here the word deregulation 1 more time i think i will throw up. All of our current problems are due to "lack" of corporate regulations. The only entity in the US that needs to be deregulated is the American consumer!!

Another crackpot letter from Deann Nelson. Surprise, surprise. Misrepresenting the NAACP's resolution, misrepresenting the position of conservatives within the DOJ who were disgusted by the attempts of some of their own to use this incident to "topple" the Obama administration, and even using the utterly discredited Breitbart's "if it's not on tape it didn't happen despite the presence of hundreds of witnesses" argument. Thank goodness this nut got kicked off tbe school board. Can you imagine a more negative influence on our children?

Well of course the tea party won't admit to being racist. The KKK hid under their sheets also. The bloated government, runaway spending, and government power grabs you speak of were all there during the 8 year presidency of a white Republican. It wasn't until Obama had a good chance of winning the white house that the tea party was formed. As they say, actions speak louder than words.

The NAACP has out lived its original purpose and now panders to the likes of Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton who use bribery and out right threats to maintain their personal living style of free-loading off their brothers. And Eric Holder needs to learn what the laws of this country mean before he destroys it with his reckless prosecutions.

The New Black Panthers? What crazy diversion are you trying to fool people with? This is a radical group of 3 angry crazy guys that Fox News has dug up and built into some kind of significant movement. Where is the TEA Party on a smaller government in Chautuaqua County? Very silent because the local Republicans play politics and oppose downsizing of legislature or dissoolution of "their" village or merging of a village to their town. No, they wage their attacks on those issues that don't directly effect them at home.
