SALAMANCA - The Hollyloft/Turner Brokers Cycling Team recently competed in the Raccoon Rally road race and mountain bike race held at Allegany State Park.
In the road race, Jim Doan finished first in the category 1/2 division while Chaz Ormond placed first in the category 5/citizen group. Curtis Royek also took first in the junior race.
Other top finishers in the category 1/2 race were Brett McKay in seventh place, Tim Finnegan in 11th place, James Graley in 12th and Bob Dahl in 14th. In the category 3/4 race, Kris Meekins placed seventh while Jennifer Wolfe was the second female finisher in the group.
Alan Thomason came in 15th place in the masters division followed by Ron Rosenberg in 22nd.
Joe Gustafson placed third in the category 5/citizen race ahead of Alan Royek in fifth, Kyle Moore in eighth, Cleo Nixon in 11th and Don Dobbs in 13th.
In the category 5/citizen women's race, Leslie Beaton finished seventh, Jo Ann Dombeck eighth and Kathy Buerkle 11th.
In the Raccoon Rally Mountain Bike Race, Doan placed second in the expert race to lead the team. Thomason finished first in the beginner race as well.
Ormond produced his second top-five finish of the weekend with a fifth-place finish in the beginner race. Nixon came in 12th, Craig Boehler 14th, Tim Overbeck 30th and Wanda Verga 46th. Verga's finish was good enough for first place in the female 50-59 age group.
