Mr. and Mrs. J. Raymond Peterson of Jamestown, N.Y., celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner party at Ye Hare in Hounds Inn in Bemus Point. The celebration was hosted by their children: Mark and Jane Peterson, Jeff and Tammy Peterson, and Mary Beth and Chip Johnson. They also have seven grandchildren.

Peterson and the former Gale Johnson were married June 10, 1950, at the former First Mission Covenant Church. The Rev. Paul W. Peterson officiated.

Peterson retired as the longtime owner of Lynn's Jewelry Store in downtown Jamestown. Mrs. Peterson retired from the former Bigelows Department Store as manager of the yarn department. She currently teaches knitting and crocheting through the Jamestown School System.
