Ralph A. ''Pete'' and Muriel Jean Wilson of Jamestown, N.Y., celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Aug. 20, 2009, at the Sportsmen's Club on Chautauqua Lake. The celebration was hosted by their children, Debra (Larry) Ammons of New Jersey, Julie (Tom) Brown of Lakewood, N.Y., Carrie (Greg) Edwards of Jamestown, N.Y., and Jeffrey (Pam) Wilson of Lakewood, N.Y. They also have 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Wilson and the former Muriel Jean Loop were married Sept. 19, 1944, in Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Jamestown, N.Y. The Rev. Felix V. Hanson performed the ceremony.
Wilson is a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army 10th Mountain Division. He had been employed by the BPU electric division and as a private electrician. He owned Wilson Electric of Lakewood and was the electrical inspector for Chautauqua County New York Board of Fire Underwriters. He is a life member of the Herman Kent Post 777, Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association and the Moose Club. Mrs. Wilson was employed by Webber Knapp.
