Allene M. Master

Allene M. Master, 93, of Bradford, formerly of Knox, Pa., died at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at URMC Northwest in Seneca.

She was born March 17, 1916, in Lamartine, the daughter of the late Claude and Martha Hahn Master.

Allene worked for Corning Glass in Bradford prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Bradford Baptist Church. Allene's life revolved around her family, whom she dearly loved. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was currently spending time with her local relatives when taken ill. Allene also liked wintering in Venice, Fla., and summers at Lake Chautauqua.

On June 20, 1936, she married Fred W. Master and he preceded her in death on Nov. 8, 1995.

Allene is survived by a grandson, Chad D'Angelo and his wife, Patty of Jamestown, N.Y.; a granddaughter, Erin D'Angelo of Los Angeles, Calif.; two great-grandchildren: Jenni and Benjamin D'Angelo of Jamestown, N.Y.; and her son-in-law, Richard D'Angelo of Clearwater, Fla. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews, among them are a niece, Jackie Beam and her husband, Daryl of Knox and three nephews: Robert McLendon of Knox, Randy McLendon and wife, Molly of Knox, and Charles Master and wife, Mary Beth of Erie.

In addition to her husband and parents, Allene was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda D'Angelo; a sister, Janie McLendon; a brother, Charles Master; a granddaughter, Jennifer D'Angelo; and a nephew, Billy McLendon.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, at the David C. McEntire Funeral Home Inc., 504 East Penn St., Knox.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Korona Say officiating.

Interment will follow in the Salem Reformed United Church of Christ Cemetery.

The family suggest memorials be made to the Salem U. C. Church Cemetery Association.
