Glayds Robyn Shepard, 68, of Lake Avenue, Brocton, N.Y., died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at the Westfield Memorial Hospital, after a short illness.
She was born in Dunkirk, N.Y., the daughter of the late Raymond and Delores Walters Dorler. She had been a Brocton area resident since 1972. She was a member of the Hartfield Volunteer Fire Department and the Chautauqua County Fire Police. She was an avid fisher and enjoyed her time at Black Lake, N.Y. She also spent a lot of time crocheting, and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Larry, whom she married July 25, 1969; three sons: Kenneth Buck of Dunkirk, Darren Buck of Brocton, and Michael Shepard of Brocton; three daughters: Sharon Bundy of York, S.C., Laurie Shepard of Seneca Falls, N.Y., and April Matos of Lawton, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Judith Ransbury of Sinclairville, N.Y.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at 11 a.m. from the Morse Funeral Home of Brocton. The Rev. Larry Morrison will officiate.
Friends are invited to call Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The family suggest that memorials be made to the Hartfield Fire Department.
