Lennart G. Erikzon

Lennart G. Erikzon, 75, of 101 N. Hanford Ave., West Ellicott, died at 4:25 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, in his home.

A Jamestown area native, he was born Dec. 8, 1934, a son of the late Lars and Signe Sjalander Erikzon.

He was a 1952 graduate of Southwestern Central School, and served in the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1954, and the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1958.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed by D.C. Rollform, as a quality control manager. He earlier had worked for Dahlstroms and MRC. Following retirement, he was employed by Lake County Dodge as a courtesy driver.

He was a member of Ingjald Lodge 65 IOV, Jamestown Moose Lodge, John W. Tiffany Post 53 Veterans of Foreign Wars and Maplehurst and Blueberry Country Clubs. He was also a member of Thule Lodge and its Swedish Folk Dance Team.

He was a sports enthusiast having played baseball and softball and was an avid golfer participating in several leagues throughout Chautauqua County. He especially enjoyed the time spent with each of his children whether folk dancing with his daughter or working and sharing with his son the passion for restoring old vehicles.

Surviving are his son, Mark (Karen) Erikzon of Concord, N.C.; daughter, Birgitta (Christopher) Barmore of Gerry; and six grandchildren: Dalton, Collin and Sophia Barmore and Kendall, Amanda and Lauren Erikzon.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Alan W. Ander-son, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Frewsburg, will officiate.

Inurnment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
