Lucille B. ''Pete'' Decker, 82, of 3341 Wing Road, passed away Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at home surrounded by her family.
A Busti resident all of her life, she was born Aug. 28, 1927, a daughter of James and Marion Northrop Boswell.
She was a 1944 graduate of Lakewood High School.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by BW Wholesale Florist as a bookkeeper, where she had worked since 1970.
She was a member of Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers, AMVETS Post 50 Auxiliary, Sugar Grove, Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion Auxiliary, Celoron and was a founding member of the Busti Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary having served for 63 years.
Surviving are four children: Nancy (Hart) Jordan and Kirk (Tiffany) Decker, both of Busti, Patricia (John) Lindsay of Frewsburg, and William V. Decker of Boston, Mass.: six grandchildren: Tracy (Jeffrey) Cioppa of Virginia Beach, Va., Amy (Matthew) Toy of Sussex, N.J., Jason (Tammy Potter) Decker of Jamestown, Shannon Decker of Lander, Pa., John (Trista) Lindsay of Frewsburg and Heather Lindsay of Jamestown, and a great-grandson, Branden Decker of Lakewood.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vance N. Decker, whom she married Sept. 1, 1951, and who died July 8, 1987; and a sister, Jean "Charlie" Garfield, May 21, 2009.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Busti Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
