Dorothy A. Nyman, 89, of Tanglewood Manor, formerly of 373 Price St., in Jamestown, died at 9:36 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, in WCA Hospital.
She was born Oct. 2, 1920, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late John and Ada Hirst Woodhead.
A 1938 graduate of Jamestown High School, Dorothy had been employed by the former Art Metal and Crescent Tool Companies, and retired in 1983 from Marine Midland Bank in Jamestown.
She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas (Susan) Nyman of Webster, N.Y., and Daniel Nyman of Edinburgh, Ind.; two grandchildren, Jeffrey (Christine) Nyman of Gates, N.Y., and Christina Nyman of Webster; and many nieces and nephews, including her niece, Jane Palmer of Lakewood; and great-niece, Sue (Bruce) Harris of Ashville.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore A. Nyman, whom she married Oct. 12, 1946, and who died Aug. 23, 1992; a sister, Florence Leber; and two brothers, Harold and Norman Woodhead.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Eric M. Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
