Frewsburg senior Asa Johnson will continue his baseball career at St. Bonaventure University. Watching him sign his letter of intent are his parents, Bruce and Nancy?Johnson, and in back, from left, are Frewsburg baseball coach Jay Grann and principal Kathleen Andeson. Johnson was a member of The Post-Journal all-star team, he was first-team Class C all-state selection, a first-team Division 2 all-star and was on the second team for All-Western New York. He had a 12-0 record with a 1.31. The right-hander won his last 22 decisions over the past two seasons. In 80 innings, he struck out 134 and walked only 24. At the plate, he hit 3.72 with eight doubles, two triples, one home run and 33 RBIs. Johnson continues a family tradition at St. Bonventure. Seth and Anneli Johnson attended St. Bonaventure on swimming scholarships and Cael Johnson is presently a junior there on a baseball scholarship. Set is now the Bonnies women's swimming and diving coach.
