Ellicottville Snowboarding Store Opens for Season

ELLICOTTVILLE - The Suburban Blend Snowboard Store in Ellicottville is officially open and serving the public every weekend throughout the opening of the area's ski resorts.

The shop is offering board tuning and the latest and hottest gear available every Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. and on Sundays from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The store is located in the basement of the Ellicottville Depot, which can be found at 6094 Route 219.

Suburban Blend is a snowboarder-owned and operated business that has brick and mortar locations in Jamestown and Ellicottville and an online store at www.shoptheblend.com.

Suburban Blend was founded in September 1997 by Jamestown, N.Y. residents Scott and Sue Harding. Ten years later, Pete Scheira and Billy Bacon, both longtime die-hard riders, bought the shop to keep the stoke alive in Jamestown. They both live for snowboarding and ride more than 100 days a season. Since 2007, the store has been active in the local resort scene and community by organizing and sponsoring several events and Jams.
