Harold and Dorothy Cornish of Bear Lake, Pa., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug.29, 2009, with a party at the Cornishs' campgrounds on Bear Lake. The celebration was hosted by their children: Tim and Deanna Cornish and Curt and Melissa Nyweide, all of Bear Lake, Pa. They also have five grandchildren: Brian and Jennifer Damcott of Clymer, N.Y., Anrean and Jason Cornish and Dakota and Megan Nyweide, all of Bear Lake, Pa., and two great-grandchildren: Braden and Addison Damcott of Clymer, N.Y.
Cornish and the former Dorothy James were married Oct. 24, 1959, in Watts Flats Methodist Church. The Rev. Armitage performed the ceremony.
Cornish is self-employed at Cornish Lumber Company in Bear Lake, Pa. They are members of the Good Shepard Mission in Clymer, N.Y.
