Doris Arlene Jordan, 80, of 106 East Pearl St., Falconer, passed away at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at home after a brief illness.
She was born October 22, 1929, in West Spring Creek, Pa., the daughter of the late Hugh and Grace Hetrick Foreman.
She was a 1947 graduate of Mayville High School. Doris was a member of the First Baptist Church of Randolph, and enjoyed baking, cooking, crafts, flower arranging and spending time with her family.
She is survived by his two sons: Melvin (Rose Mary) Jordan Jr. of Randolph, and Larry (Karen) Jordan of Kennedy; two daughters: Katherine Jordan and Connie (Eric) Thompson, both of Falconer; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin F. Jordan Sr., whom she married Oct. 27, 1945 in Falconer, and who preceded her on Oct. 23, 1987; a daughter, Melody Moore; a brother; Thomas Foreman; and a sister, Lee Foreman.
A celebration of Doris's life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph. The Rev. Kenneth Schultz, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Randolph will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Randolph Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
