Wesley D. Sherlock

LITTLE VALLEY - Wesley D. Sherlock, 81, a retired maintenance worker for Dahlstrom Manufacturing, where he worked for 42 years, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at his home on Route 353 in Little Valley, N.Y.

He was born February 24, 1928, in Portville, N.Y., the son of Theodore and Rose (Burrows) Sherlock.

Wesley enjoyed farming and fishing, and served in the Army for a short period of time during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Mary N. (Priest) Sherlock of Little Valley, N.Y., whom he married on Christmas Eve in 1950, a son, Dale M. (Tracy) Sherlock of Little Valley, N.Y., two daughters: Kathleen M. Sherlock of Edgewood, Fla. and Ann M. (Brian) Jones of Aiken, S.C., 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three sisters: Leola Van Name of Laurel, Fla., Gladys Jones of Kingman, Ariz. and Joyce Duncan of Minnesota, and two brothers: Clifford Sherlock of New Orleans, La. and Kenneth Sherlock of Randolph, N.Y.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Theodore Sherlock.

A private memorial service is being planned for a later date.

The family suggests memorials to Little Valley Fire Dept. 101 Third St., Little Valley, NY 14755.
